Do you have an old camera lying around?

I am seeking donations of digital cameras for a pilot climate change photography project that I will be working on whilst in Bangladesh over the next year. The project will consist of photography workshops to support Bangladeshi's to document themselves both the impacts of climate change that are already affecting their lives and communities, and the positive actions and projects that are happening in response.

By when: ASAP...! or by Wed April 27th at the very latest please

Please post/drop off to: 115 Gladstone Avenue, Northcote. (map) If dropping off please behind tree on front porch out of sight of street). If unable to post/drop off, I may be able to collect it from you - let me know thanks.

Personal background: I've always loved taking photos! I did an art photography degree at the VCA and have run small photography projects in India, East Timor and Indonesia (mainly with children). The last project was in Footscray and is documented here. I hope that this project can help some of the people being most affected by climate change tell their story.

If you know of other people/networks that may like to donate cameras, please forward this email on to them.

thanks for your time,
Michael Chew

Participants wanted: research into self and social change

Participants wanted for masters research project on self and social change

Are you interested in questions of how to create effective positive social and environmental change, and where do you best fit in? This small project will explore people’s self-perceptions of their ability to contribute to this change. It uses a simple and supportive interviewing technique called strategic questioning.
Participating is easy – simply attend an informal interview session over the next few weeks and provide feedback on the process. Food and drink will be provided, if in person, or it can be done over skype if time pressed. This project forms part of my coursework masters, and the ensuring report will be available to participants. Regarding privacy: this report will remain unpublished and participants’ will also remain anonymous should they wish.
To find out more info about the project or to participate, please contact me on entropygravity(a)gmail.com / 0432 025 911. As places are limited and as the project timeline is tight, interested people are encouraged to contact me ASAP, or by wed 13th April at the latest. Background to the project can be found here, and an earlier related pilot project is documented here.

Charlie the cat isnt related to the project, but she sure is cute.
